November: Finding Form in the Freeze
November has had me working on myself, getting into the right mindset and settling into the off season. With fewer races on the calendar I’ve had time to focus on some solid training blocks and lay the foundations for next year. I’ve been focussing on building speed, strength and endurance with some long dark evening hill reps.
I have been getting more involved into the coaching side of the sport, recently undertaking my foundation coaching course to help build the next generation of youth athletes and to continually develop myself to be better every day as both an athlete and a coach.
I had my first swimming gala of the season, it came with mixed emotions – in one race I unfortunately added time, but in the next I PB’d. It was a useful early-season benchmark and a good indicator for where my swim speed currently is.
