Monthly Updates

Still Rolling

July was a fairly steady month—nothing too crazy, just keeping the train on the tracks and building some consistency again.

The main event was the Bristol Super Series race, and it was hot to say the least. I finished 12th, which I was really happy with considering how unsettled things had been beforehand. It felt like a solid step in the right direction and gave me a bit more confidence that the work I’ve been putting in is starting to pay off.

After that, I took a short break before getting back into some bike testing to see where my form was really at. I also entered a local cycle race to sharpen up my bunch riding skills. Everything was going to plan—I was comfortably sitting in the main bunch—but with around 2km to go, I got caught up in a crash and hit the deck.

Thankfully, I escaped with nothing more than a few cuts and scrapes, so it could have been much worse. Unfortunately, my bike wasn’t quite as lucky, and I came away with a broken front wheel. Not the ideal way to end the race, but that’s bike racing sometimes.
